Problem Statement
In 2020 Levi Strauss embarked on a strategic initiative to build a 1.3 million sq ft warehouse in Germany to streamline its wholesale and retail distribution across Europe. The project aimed to enhance their operational capabilities, bringing their wholesale / retail and, in future, their e-commerce services in-house to gain greater control over the customer logistics experience. However, the project faced a pause during the COVID-19 pandemic and resumed shortly after. To ensure seamless execution of the IT components, Levi Strauss engaged VCO Systems to support the IT implementation in the warehouse.
VCO’s Approach
VCO Systems provided comprehensive IT project delivery support for the warehouse IT build, delivering program management, integration services, and WMS (Warehouse Management System) configuration using Manhattan Active WMS systems.
Key Support Area
Integration with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) suppliers and their RFID technology.
- Integration with the Warehouse Control System (WCS), as well as the Shuttle and Miniload Systems (ASRS)
