How Pick/Put Cart Works?
Multiple LPNs/Cartons are grouped together into a pick cart – either autoloaded or user assigned and the user is then directed through the most efficient pick path to complete the picks. Orders/Cartons can be picked directly into shipping containers to avoid additional touches at the pack station.
At every pick location, the total quantity required is displayed on the Pick Cart status location and on the mobile device. Each individual location on the Pick Cart shows the quantity required for that specific Order/Carton. This facilitates the user to perform 1 Pick at the Location and multiple Puts to the Pick Cart Locations.
Batch Picking can also be performed using the Cart to feed inventory to downstream putwalls for order sortation.
“Pick Carts are equipped with a Battery and a WiFi-Enabled Controller for Mobile Operation.”

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a pick cart used for in batch picking warehouse operations?
A Pick/Put Cart is used for cluster picking or batch picking for order fulfillment. Multiple LPNs/cartons are grouped together into the cart, either auto-loaded or user-assigned and the user is directed through the most efficient pick path to complete the picks.
Why is it called a "Pick/Put" cart?
Because the cart supports one Pick at the SKU location and multiple Puts to the cart’s individual order/carton locations, the user picks an item once, then distributes it across the cart’s slots, which is where the Pick/Put naming comes from.
How does pick path optimization work with a batch picking cart?
Orders are auto-loaded to the Pick Cart based on pick path optimization, and users can start picking from any location on the pick path or reverse the pick path as needed.
